For decades, cyclists who wanted electric assistance faced a single option: buy a new, heavy e-bike - permanently changing the bike they'd spent years choosing, fitting, and falling in love with. Skarper was founded to create a third way.

The result is the Skarper E-POWER system - a compact, removable drive unit that clicks onto your existing road, gravel, hybrid, or touring bike, delivering pedal assistance when you want it, and nothing when you don't.

The Engineering Behind It

Five years of R&D led to a landmark partnership with Red Bull Advanced Technologies; the same team behind championship-winning Formula 1 cars, to shrink a motorsport-grade gearbox into the space of a rear disc brake. The patent-pending DiskDrive® rotor is fitted once to your existing wheel; from that point on, the Skarper drive unit simply clicks on and off with no tools required.

The system delivers 76Nm of smooth pedal-assist power, flattening climbs and extending your range, while the bike itself retains its original weight, handling, and character when Skarper is removed.

Skarper has been recognised across the cycling and design industries, winning a Eurobike Award - cited as the most significant innovation in electric propulsion - as well as both the iF Design Gold and Red Dot awards.
